- On Oct. 15th vision screenings will be done for all Pre-K - 3rd grade students. Please see the flyer and consent forms in English and Spanish for more information. Contact Nurse Stone for further information.
- Our 10th Annual Strynar Fun Run will take place on Wednesday, October 23rd. Pledge sheets were distributed on Friday. Please make every effort to fund-raise as much as possible. All funds go to student activities at Cordero including the Washington D.C. Trip. Top fundraisers will receive prizes and special recognition. We will need a significant amount of volunteers. A signup is available on the Cordero Sunday Digest Blog.
- For October 31st, your child may wear a costume to school. There is a Halloween Letter explaining the rules that was given our last week. Our parade will continue its normal route. The parade will begin at 9:30 and include students from Pre-K to Grade 5.
PTA news:
- Know before you vote: On Friday, October 4, PTA submitted a list of 3 questions to all Board of Education candidates representing key issues for our school. Candidates were requested to provide a written response less than 75 words to each question by October 11, 2019. PTA will compile all received answers and share via a read only document to the Cordero school community.
- Monday, 10/7: Enrichment classes begin. Make a donation to fund Enrichment scholarships for Cordero students! Your financial contribution helps a student take a class who might not otherwise be able to afford it. Contact enrichment@ps37pta.org with any questions.
- Tuesday 10/8, 6pm: BOE parent & community meeting, 346 Claremont Avenue 6th floor. Valerie Morris from CASPER will be there to answer any questions you may have. Parking available in the lot.
- Friday 10/11, 4pm-dusk: Into the Humanverse: A Family Maker Night w/HPNA, Hamilton Park, followed by HPNA movie "Into the Spiderverse".
Reminders:
- If you are new to our community, please sign up for emails by filling out this form. Please also provide your email to the main office so they can ensure it is on Infinite Campus.
- Parents that use strollers to transport children, please be advised that we need to keep our entry doors clear. Strollers have contributed to a traffic jam on our sidewalks and this disrupts the safe passage of our teachers and students. Please be mindful of where you are stopping with your strollers. Additionally, please remember that one of the key skills for our younger students is learning how to walk to school independently. If you have the time, please make the time to help your children grow.
