• We hope that you had a great first couple of days of school!
• This week, we will begin with a normal, full week of school. Please note that we have had a change in our performing arts teacher. We would like to welcome both music teacher Mr. Yachnik and drama teacher Mr. Neustein to the Cordero family. They will take over the schedule for Ms. Juenge. Mr. Yachnik will teach Tuesdays and Thursdays and Mr. Neustein will teacher Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Please be patient as they take on this new role here at Cordero.
• Also this week, our district-run before care program (known as Morning STARS) and after care program (known as CASPER) will begin Monday. For those who signed up for YMCA program, it begins on the 16th. Registration for all of those programs will continue this week.
• Uniform order forms will be sent home this week. See the form for further details. Remember that proper uniform looks are available on the Sunday digest site. For any clarification or extenuating circumstances, please contact the office.
• Paper lunch applications were delivered to homerooms on Friday which means that you should receive yours this week. Please complete it as it helps determine funding for our school. If you have internet access, you can complete your lunch application online this year at: https://www.myschoolapps.com
• As of right now, we still do not have metal detectors installed. Once they are installed, a communication about our entry procedures will go out. Please note that the entire Jersey City Public School District will have metal detectors to screen all students from grades 5 and up and including visitors.
• If you are new to our community, please sign up for emails by filling out this form. Please also provide your email to the main office so they can ensure it is on Infinite Campus. 
• Our first parent night of the year will happen on Tuesday, September 17th from 6:30 - 8pm. Come visit your children's teachers and get to know Cordero. The PTA Enrichment committee will host an enrichment vendor fair from 5:45 to 6:30 that same night. 
• Thank you for helping to make our first two days of school a success and organized. We appreciate your responsiveness and support.

• Thank you to all the parents who cooked, served or donated to our teacher's welcome back breakfast! Pictures on the PTA Facebook page. 
• A PTA Welcome Packet with information about the PTA and Cordero school will be distributed to student backpacks this week. The packet is also online at www.ps37pta.org.
• Enrichment Fall 2019 class offerings are now available with updated vendor information. There will be a demonstration of Rockasori for PreK 3 and PreK 4 classroom music program on Sept 17 at 5:45pm -6:30pm. Learn more about this program that is led by parent volunteers.
• Class Parents needed for all homerooms! Apply online or contact our Chair at chris@ps37pta.org.
